NY Supreme Court Orders Eric Trump to Testify in Probe of The Trump Organization Without Delay
Donald Trump has used his position as president to shield himself from multiple court cases. This includes a deep probe into his Trump Organization which is being conducted by the New York Attorney General’s Office.
For some reason, Eric Trump thought that he could use the protections afforded to his father for his own use. He refused to show up for a subpoenaed interview back in mid July and has continued to stall. Today the Supreme Court of New York said that the president’s son can no longer avoid his testimony.
New York’s Attorney General, Letitia James recently said in a statement, “Nothing will stop us from following the facts and the law, wherever they may lead. For months, the Trump Organization has made baseless claims in an effort to shield evidence from a lawful investigation into its financial dealings. They have stalled, withheld documents, and instructed witnesses, including Eric Trump, to refuse to answer questions under oath.”
Eric Trump’s lawyers argued that Eric Trump should not be compelled to appear until after the election. They wrote in a memo, “We cannot allow the requested interview to go forward … pursuant to those rights afforded to every individual under the Constitution.”
Eric Trump CANNOT delay his deposition by @NewYorkStateAG until after election.
"This court finds [Eric Trump's] application unpersuasive," Justice Engoran says, noting his is "not bound by the timelines of the election."

But the claims of the Trump lawyers have not been denied. New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoran wrote, “This court finds [Eric Trump’s] application unpersuasive. [And he is] not bound by the timelines of the election.”
