Not OK: State Senator from Oklahoma Makes False Accusations Of Sexual Misconduct Against VP Harris

A Republican from Oklahoma used his Earth Day legislation to make a false, sexist, and derogatory statement about Vice President Kamala Harris in an official press release. Oklahoma State Senator Nathan Dahm, who represents Broken Arrow, OK, announced legislation that would ban paper straws because he personally hates them. Dahm complained that he needs a plastic straw to stay hydrated when he drinks his beverages and that paper straws aren’t good enough for him. While this seems like just another Republican whining over nothing, Dahm also used the straw as a metaphor to make an inappropriate remark about Vice President Harris.

In his official press release regarding his straw legislation, Dahm compares a wet paper straw to President Joe Biden’s inability to “string a sentence together”, but he made it even worse in a follow-up interview with a local TV station to explain his reasons for attacking the first female, Black, and South Asian Vice President.

Speaking with TV station KTUL, Dahm pushed the Republican conspiracy that VP Harris couldn’t possibly have achieved anything in her career simply based on her intelligence, saying of the Vice President: “There’s a lot of different things that could be said about that with her vast experience and how she got her start into politics,” claimed Dahm. “In talking with some people, one thing that could be said, you know, you can’t use a paper straw for a milkshake, but maybe Kamala Harris could because of her past experience.”

Here he is saying the words on video:

Dahm caught wind that people were unhappy with his comments, so he took the Trumpiest route possible to respond.

Twitter didn’t much appreciate that, neither.

It seems Dahm isn’t very popular at home thanks to his previous issues with women and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Fortunately, it also seems the Oklahoma State Senate isn’t very happy with Dahm’s comments.
