“Nice Career Move” Scarborough Blasts Ice Cube Over Kushner/Trump Ties
Donald Trump is obsessed with celebrity. And in that vein, he is willing to meet any famous person that is willing to talk to him. Being connected to this president, however, is considered to be a toxic thing in this day and age. Still, rapper Ice Cube has recently been talking to the administration and particularly Jared Kushner.
The rapper explained that he spoke with the campaign and was willing to speak to any politician about his Contract with Black America. Still, Ice Cube has been heavily criticized since the news broke. Joe Scarborough continued to pile on this Tuesday saying that the rapper’s decision was a “nice career move.”
The story was back in the news again after Jared Kushner’s Monday comments about Black Americans. The president’s son-in-law told Fox and Friends, ” President Trump’s policies are the policies that can help people break out the problems that they’re complaining about. But he can’t want them to be successful more than they want to be successful.”
Referencing these comments, the MSNBC host said, “I guess Ice Cube associates himself with Jared Kushner saying that Donald Trump can’t help black people if black people don’t want to help themselves. I guess that’s what ice cube associates himself with.”
Scarborough continued, “Nice career move. Nice career move, Ice Cube. That’s really something, at this stage, when you have seen such racial animus coming out of the White House being stirred up, that somebody like Ice Cube or Kanye West are deciding, yeah hey, this seems like a good move. To back Donald Trump and Jared Kushner. Let that one sink in for a second.”
