It seems like some of the former president’s fan’s can’t tell the difference between someone stating a political opinion that others might disagree with, and someone inciting a deadly riot through repeated lies. Newt Gingrich, for instance, is weighing in to suggest that social media sites that banned Donald Trump should also now ban President Joe Biden.
What’s the difference between Donald Trump repeatedly claiming that he won the election he lost, calling his fan base to show up at the Capitol Building and “be wild,” demanding that they pressure Congress and Mike Pence to overturn the election, and Joe Biden stating his views on Georgia’s voter suppression efforts? According to Newt Gingrich, none, and they should suffer the same punishment.
Since president Biden clearly lied about Georgias election law shouldnt twitter and facebook suspend his account like they did President Trump?

America’s right wing, railing against what they call ‘cancel culture’ and what most people recognize as mere consequences for bad behavior, has no problem with entities being ‘canceled’ — as long as they’re the ones doing the canceling. In another example, Gingrich also suggested yesterday that Major League Baseball, which is pulling some games from Georgia over voter suppression, should also cancel games in New York and California.
If Major League Baseball moves the all star game from Atlanta it will be based on total lies. As Karl Rove has pointed out a lot of states are far more restrictive on voting than Georgia. Will MLB pull out of New York, California etc? This is a smear and woke mob blackmail.

In both cases, he’s maintaining that pushback against the new legislation is based on ‘lies.’ As CNN details, the new legislation emphasizes and solidifies rules that limit early voting, prevents handing out food and water to voters (even by people who are not electioneering and are more than 150 feet from a polling place), and sends a very firm message that the Georgia GOP will respond to POC showing up to vote and flip the state by fighting to keep voters from the polls.
