New York Daily News Editorial Board: Donald Trump a ‘Chauvinist Oaf’

The New York Daily News editoral board blasted President Donald Trump’s habitually sexist behavior toward women in a brief but blistering editoral published on Thursday.

The paper, known for its catchy headlines and oft-tabloidy stories, blasted Trump’s “vicious contempt for women, particularly powerful women who dared to challenge or criticize him.”

The “complete list of examples” is long and “wouldn’t fit this page,” the editorial said, citing some notable examples:

“As president, he cruelly mocked MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski; called former aide Omarosa Manigault “that dog”; and used the word “nasty,” a favorite insult he also applies to male foes, to describe Hillary Clinton, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Mazie Hirono, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, reporters Yamiche Alcindor and April Ryan, GM CEO Mary Barra, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and most recently, Joe Biden’s running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris.”

The president “is an adolescent-brained, overcompensating schoolyard bully with a mutant victim complex, a chauvinist oaf who thinks his fame and alleged wealth give him the right to grab women by the crotch,” the editoral board wrote.

In October 2016, Trump was heard bragging about sexually assaulting women in a leaked Access Hollywood tape.

“When you’re a star you can do it, they let you do anything,” Trump gloated. “Grab ’em by the p*ssy.”

To this day, Trump refuses to live it down.

In a disjointed and unhinged interview on Fox News Thursday morning, Trump railed against California Senator Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, whom he called “nasty,” a favorite jab of his, as well as a “mad woman.”

In the same interview with Maria Bartiromo, Trump hurled insults at Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA), both of whom are Democrats.

“I won’t say where she went to school it doesn’t matter,” the president said of AOC. “This is not even a smart person other than she’s got a good line of stuff. I mean, she goes out and she yaps.”

Trump did, however, acknowledge the power of AOC’s ultra-progressive brand.

“These guys, they’re all afraid of her.” he said. “If you notice, all of these progressives are beating regular Democrats.”

The president predicted that she would mount a successful primary challenge to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whose term ends in 2022.

“Schumer’s going to get beaten by her. She’s going to run against Schumer, and he knows that and he’s going to get beaten by her unless you can talk her out of doing it. He has no chance,” Trump told Bartiromo. “Chuck Schumer will be, in my opinion. AOC will run against Chuck Schumer for the Senate. Yeah, I mean, I think. And I think she’ll win.”

AOC has offered no indication that she intends to run for US Senate.

Trump then called Pelosi “stone-cold crazy.”

All of this and more demonstrates that Trump is “a man incapable of respecting women, a 51% majority of America” and “can’t represent the country, much less set a good example for its children,” the Daily News concluded.

“Vote Trump out.”
