New York AG To Trump: I File The Lawsuits, Not Cuomo
Donald Trump and his Trump organization are the subject of a number of investigations in New York City. One of these probes was recently settled with the Trump Organization, accused of massive charity fraud, paying back $2 million to 8 different charities.
A number of other cases still persist and New York lawyers are attempting to get their hands on Trump’s long elusive tax returns. Trump sat with New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo and threatened the Governor about in investigations over Twitter. New York Attorney General Letitia James was quick to tweet back to the President that the investigations begin and end with her.
On Thursday, the President took to Twitter to threaten Governor Cuomo and insult his brother. Trump wrote, “I’m seeing Governor Cuomo today at The White House. He must understand that National Security far exceeds politics. New York must stop all of its unnecessary lawsuits & harrassment, start cleaning itself up, and lowering taxes. Build relationships, but don’t bring Fredo!”
James was quick to correct Trump. She wrote, “When you stop violating the rights and liberties of all New Yorkers, we will stand down. Until then, we have a duty and responsibility to defend the Constitution and the rule of law. BTW, I file the lawsuits, not the Governor.”

The New York Attorney General has been a burr in Trump’s side since the day she took office. That doesn’t seem likely to stop anytime soon.
