Joe Biden, through little fault of his own, had a very rough first year of his presidency. Democratic senators Joe Machin and Kyrsten Sinema have dashed his policy goals. And the nation faced two more COVID surges with the Delta and Omicron.

Right now, the GOP might be licking their chops. But if they plan on running Donald Trump again, it might not go any better than it did in 2020. A new poll shows Biden handily defeating Trump in a 2024 race.
A poll recently conducted by Marquette University Law School showed Biden beating Trump by a 43-33% margin. 16% said that they would prefer a different candidate.
After sulking for a month or two after leaving the White House last January, Trump has again hit the campaign trail. He is still holding rallies, though fewer people are showing up. And his speaking tour with Bill O’Reilly hasn’t been all that successful.
If Ron DeSantis is swapped in for Trump, Republicans would only do slightly better. The poll shows Biden defeating the Florida governor by a margin of 41-33.
