NBA Megastar LeBron James Supports the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act
With a global reach and a massive social media platform, pro athletes are more influential than ever before. And as the biggest star in the NBA, LeBron James has a bigger platform than most.
And James has continually used that platform to push for progressive policies. The Los Angeles Laker endorsed both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton in their races against Donald Trump. And now he has come out is support of the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
James told reporters on Tuesday night, “I’m in full support of the George Floyd bill. It will change the landscape of how policing is modified and how policing is looked at. It holds a lot of accountability. It will make our communities and our great nation a better place.”
"The man literally changed the world."

The comments from the basketball star will surely inflame conservatives. Laura Ingraham said of James in 2018, “It’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball. Keep the political comments to yourselves. … Shut up and dribble.”
James responded to the Fox host’s criticism:
“We will definitely not shut up and dribble. … I mean too much to society, too much to the youth, too much to so many kids who feel like they don’t have a way out. I had no idea who she is … until now. So she won in that case.”
