The “Let’s Go Brandon” slam against Joe Biden began in NASCAR. Initially, driver Brandon Brown said that he didn’t want to get into anything political. He quickly changed his tune, though, when a cryptocurrency company offered to sponsor his car.Brown and his team excitedly revealed that partnership. Their excitement, though, was premature. NASCAR had not yet approved the deal. And now, sources are revealing that the organization has rejected the sponsorship.
Fox Sports Bob Pockrass tweeted, “NASCAR has made the final decision that the LGBcoin sponsorship for Brandon Brown is not an approved sponsorship to be on the car.”

The decision is not all that surprising. When asked about the “Let’s Go Brandon,” chant back in November, NASCAR president Steve Phelps explained:
“We do not want to associate ourselves with politics, the left or the right. We obviously have and we’ve always had as a sport tremendous respect for the office of the president no matter who is sitting.
“I think it’s an unfortunate situation. Do we like the fact that it kind of started with NASCAR and then is gaining ground elsewhere? No, we’re not happy about that. But we will continue to make sure that we have respect for the office of the president.”
