Nancy Pelosi Calls For Ethics Investigation Of Marjorie Taylor Green For Verbal Assault, Abuse Of Colleague AOC

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Thursday that Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) should face an investigation by the House Ethics Committee after chasing down Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and trying to force her into a public interaction. Greene has responded, tweeting angrily about her frustration that Ocasio-Cortez refuses to legitimize her by engaging in an official debate.

As reported previously, Marjorie Taylor Greene was witnessed pursuing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, chasing her and trying to demand an interaction. Ocasio-Cortez chose to walk away, resulting in Greene screaming insults and accusing her of sympathizing with terrorists. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responds:

While Pelosi says that there should probably be an investigation, Greene responded on Twitter, not only to Pelosi’s criticism, but from her own party. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) suggested that Greene was going around the protocols for professional debate, and described her behavior as attention-seeking.

Greene couldn’t resist lashing out, taking a page from Donald Trump’s insult book as she called her Republican colleague “little Adam” and shortened Ocasio-Cortez’s given name to “Sandy.”

She claimed that AOC called for security, not because of being pursued and shouted in the street as she attempted to go about her business, but out of fear of debate.

In response to Pelosi, she insisted that Ocasio-Cortez was the one who should face an Ethics investigation, for trying to ruin the lives of Trump supporters. (She’s referring to AOC’s call, as reported here by Politico, not to allow a revisionist history whereby one-time supporters later pretend they didn’t.)

Greene has been trying to goad Ocasio-Cortez into a debate for some time now, but Ocasio-Cortez refuses to bite and give her the legitimacy and affirmation of any real acknowledgment at all. Now Greene’s decision to try to force her way might just result in an investigation into her behavior.
