Multiple Democrats Call Out Lindsey Graham Over GA Election Interference Allegations

Republicans have attempted to contest the results in a number of states lost by Donald Trump. It is easy for them to call out states like Michigan or Pennsylvania which are led by Republicans. Georgia, however has a Republican governor and GOP election officials.

Still, some in the party have been going after Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Raffensperger, a Republican has been eager to fight back and recently claimed that Lindsey Graham encouraged him to throw out legal votes. A number of Democratic lawmakers are now calling out Graham over the allegations.

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker tweeted, “Senate Republicans shouldn’t be applying pressure on election officials to overturn the will of the people. This is deeply troubling and unacceptable. The voters chose Joe Biden. This was a free and fair election. It’s way past time for all of us to accept that and move on.”

New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries took it a step further, writing, “Did Lindsey Graham illegally pressure the Georgia Secretary of State to rig the election after the fact? The Justice Department should find out.”

Walter Schaub, the former Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics tweeted, “Even if one were to accept Graham’s version of the story, the call’s a scandal that should lead to his immediate resignation. The republic won’t survive Senate committee chairs calling election officials from their own party to discuss vote counting before a final verdict.”

And Washington’s Pramila Jayapal kept it succinct, writing, “I’d like to report some voter fraud.”
