Mueller Report: Further Investigation May Have Uncovered Trump Crimes
It is no secret that the Trump campaign, and later the Trump Administration, was furious that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III was appointed in the first place, let alone the fact that the investigation went on for nearly two years.
There were many things done by the campaign and later the administration to keep the investigation from being seen as legitimate in the eyes of the public, and to end the whole investigation as soon as possible, period.
However, now that the investigation is over, it appears that part of Mueller’s report reveals something rather troubling. There is speculation that had the probe continued, there would have been evidence of criminal wrongdoing on the part of the Trump campaign and administration, as well as perhaps even Donald Trump himself. That part of the report says on page 76:
“The president wanted to protect himself from the investigation into his campaign. The president had a motive to put the FBI’s investigation behind him. The evidence does not establish a determination if Comey was designed to cover-up a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.”
“The evidence uncovered did not establish that the president was involved or those close to him were involved in the computer hacking or active measure conspiracies or that the president are an unlawful relationship with any Russian official. But the evidence does indicate that a thorough FBI investigation would uncover facts about the campaign and the president personally that the president could have understood to be crimes or that would give rise to personal and political concerns.”
It’s important to note that there are still investigations to be conducted in the House of Representatives, as well as multiple other jurisdictions in both federal and state court, so it seems that this story is far from over.
