MTG Says J6 Tapes Shouldn't Be Released Because It Threatens the Safety of Capitol Security

Kevin McCarthy has previously shared January 6th security tapes with Tucker Carlson. The then Fox News host then used the footage to distort what happened at the Capitol that day.

Now the Speaker is again planning on releasing footage to Right Wing outlets. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has attempted to gaslight the country on what happened that day, came out again the move.

The Georgia Congressman said during an appearance on Real America's Voice, "And this is our real concern with the video tapes. If we released these video tapes just widely for the public — number one, we put the security of the Capitol at risk, because there’s over 1,700 video cameras."

Greene continued, "Number two, we also endanger many Americans that were simply standing on the Capitol grounds, maybe never even walked through the Capitol or committed any crimes, but they could have just walked further than where the barrier was simply because the barrier was torn down by the time they got there."

Later, via her Twitter feed, Greene revealed what is likely her main fear. That people would use facial recognition software to uncover seditionists. She wrote, "Sedition Hunters would spend every second of every day analyzing the videos in order to hunt innocent people that just stood on Capitol grounds on J6."
