If MyPillow Chief Executive Officer Mike Lindell excels at anything it is looking like an absolute fool in news headlines. On Wednesday evening, VICE News reported that the conspiracy theorist and pontiff of former President Donald Trump’s church of lies is hiding an ex-Colorado elections official in a safe house to shield her from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to Vice, Republican Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters “is ‘holed up’ in a safe house provided by pillow salesman and conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell. Lindell told VICE News that he had initially taken Peters to Texas following his three-day Cyber Symposium last week, where the Colorado official was a star attraction. But a disgruntled member of Lindell’s own security team leaked Peters’ location earlier this week and so she was moved to another, unknown, location.”
The friends we keep.
Peters is wanted for questioning by the FBI for having “allegedly ordered county officials to turn off surveillance cameras that were monitoring election equipment” this past May, VICE explained last week. “Peters then allowed someone to steal sensitive election data, as well as film a Dominion Voting Systems Corporation employee updating the election system software, according to Colorado’s Secretary of State Jena Griswold.”
That leaked data subsequently fell into the hands of QAnon promoter and 8chan administrator Ron Watkins, who in turn shared it at Lindell’s absurd Cyber Symposium in South Dakota last weekend.
Peters is “worried about her safety, these people are ruthless,” Lindell said in an interview with VICE, referring to Dominion Voting Systems, which is suing Lindell and other Trump clowns for $1.3 billion in defamatory damages that it claims were inflicted by false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold has also opened a probe into Peters’s potentially criminal actions.
