Mike Bloomberg to Fund Big Ad Buys in Ohio/Texas During Campaign’s Last Week
There are a number of different states that Joe Biden could win that would basically seal his election. And some of these states were never expected to be in play for the Democrats. But polls have repeatedly shown Biden to be within the margin of error or even leading in Texas and Ohio.
Texas and Ohio are two places where the GOP never thought they would have to play defense in the last week. But thanks to Michael Bloomberg, they are going to have to. The former New York City mayor has announced his plans to do major ad buys in the two states during the election’s last week.
Bloomberg’s team decided on the two states after internal polling showed that the president to be especially weak there. The total buy in the two states will amount to around $15 million. Bloomberg has also spent big dollars buying up ads in swing state Florida.
Howard Wolfson, an aide to the former New York City mayor explained, “We believe that Florida will go down to the wire, and we were looking for additional opportunities to expand the map. Texas and Ohio present the best opportunities to do that, in our view.”
In our poll, Biden's up 7 among early voters. If you need to try and overcome that kind of a deficit on Election Day, in on the assumption that you can match the turnout we see in early voting, I don't think you want a bunch of negative ads at the last second

These states could also mean the end for Trump’s bid. The Times reports:
“Should either Texas or Ohio slip into the Democratic column, it would likely indicate not only a Trump defeat, but also one by a thumping margin. The two states have 56 Electoral College votes between them, and Mr. Trump’s campaign has never devised a path to victory that does not involve carrying both.”
