Michael Cohen has a new lawyer and he’s not holding back against President Trump. Lanny Davis claims that Trump’s interactions with former national security adviser Michael Flynn amount to an “abuse of power” which could be an impeachable offense.
Davis appeared on Hill.TV’s “Rising” with Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on Wednesday where he commented on former FBI Director James Comey’s testimonial before Congress. Comey said that before he was fired the president asked him to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn.
“When you have a president lying about abuse of power such as lying about asking Michael Flynn not to be prosecuted, in that case, I believe James Comey and not Mr. Trump, that type of lie is an abuse of power and could be an impeachable offense.”
Attorney’s largely agree that Flynn lying to the FBI and Trump asking for the investigation to be dropped could be a clear-cut case for obstruction of justice.
Flynn was allegedly fired after lying to Vice President Mike Pence about a meeting he conducted with a Russian official, or so Trump claims in regards to Flynn’s termination.
Lanny Davis, who served on the special counsel for President Clinton, and remains close to the Clinton family, doesn’t seem to be holding back and punches at a time when Michael Cohen has promised to turn against Trump and put his “family and country first.”
Davis has already gone on the offense, attacking the credibility of both Trump and his lawyer, Rudy Guiliani.
Did @rudygiuliani really say on Sunday shows that @michaelcohen212 should cooperate with prosecutors and tell the truth? Seriously? Is that Trump and Giuliani definition of “truth”? Trump/Giuliani next to the word “truth” = oxymoron. Stay tuned. #thetruthmatters

Cohen is most certainly stocking up on legal representation for what is sure to be a contentious battle. He recently added Guy Petrillo, a former top staffer in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the same office that is now probing Cohen.
Cohen has promised to drop some bombshell information about Donald Trump but we’re still waiting to see what comes of his testimony.
