Donald Trump and the Republican party claim that the president is not a racist. There is, however, a fair amount of evidence to the contrary. Just take, for example, the time that Trump took out a full-page ad calling for the innocent Central Park Five to be executed.Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer, has been more than happy to spill the beans on his ex-boss. In addition to writing a book, he has also made regular appearances on cable news. He did so on Sunday, on MSNBC, and told Al Sharpton that Trump is unequivocally racist.
Sharpton was primarily concerned with Trump’s recent comments where he discussed the genes of Minnesotan voters. Trump told his audience Saturday night, “You have good genes, you know that, right? You have good genes. A lot of it is about the genes, isn’t it, don’t you believe? The racehorse theory. You think we’re so different? You have good genes in Minnesota.”
The host asked Cohen about the matter. “The fact is, as much as he has a disdain for Black people, he truly despises Black women because he doesn’t know how to handle them,” Cohen said. “He doesn’t know what to do.”
Sharpton continued, “Minnesota’s a state that’s more than 80 percent white. And we know the president’s supporters are overwhelmingly white. Is there any other way to interpret this than full-throated white supremacy.”
“Well no,” answered Cohen.
