Michael Avenatti Will Pursue Criminal Charges Against Jacob Wohl
Michael Avenatti, the former lawyer for adult film actress Stormy Daniels, is reportedly going to represent the man whose photo was stolen by alt-right personality Jacob Wohl, when he posted a fake death threat earlier this month.
I am pleased to announce that I have been retained by Mr. Delgado to pursue all available criminal and civil claims against Jacob Wohl. It is time that he face the consequences for his outrageous conduct. And I intend on ensuring that he does. https://t.co/200TJgJVQd

Wohl initially reported a death threat to the Minneapolis Police Department, but there was just one tiny problem: he appears to have written the threat to himself from a fake account he created, posing as a gay Hispanic “diversity coordinator,” who does not really exist. The bigger (and legal) problem is that Wohl decided to steal the photo of Aaron Delgado, a Minnesota realtor whose image was used for Wohl’s “Drake Holmes” creation.
Delgado hasn’t the slightest clue as to why his photo was stolen from Instagram and used in this bizarre hoax. According to Delgado,” one of my clients messaged me. My face was making national news for all the wrong reasons.”
There really seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason to anything the alt-right does, but Wohl can surely expect a hefty dose of legal ramifications now that Avenatti’s services have been retained. Not only does this appear to be a criminal matter, but Wohl could also be pursued by Delgado and Avenatti on a civil front for likely damages.
Wohl has a storied past of false reporting, most notably when he teamed with GOP lobbyist Jack Burkman and accused Special Counsel Robert Mueller of raping a woman late last year, in an almost comical quest to tarnish the name of Mr. Mueller..
We’ve reached out to Jacob Wohl for comment, but have yet to hear back.
