Mexican lawmaker easily climbs the border wall

In an attempt to prove a point to US President Donald Trump, Mexican Congressman Braulio Guerra tweeted several photos of himself at the top of a 30-foot portion of the Mexico-U.S. border wall this Wednesday.

“I was able to scale it, climb it, and sit myself right here,” the congressman from Querétaro, in central Mexico, said in a video.

“It would be simple for me to jump into the United States, which shows that it is unnecessary and totally absurd to build a wall,” he added.

His tweet was sent out one month after Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for construction of a border wall.“existing funds and resources.”

Instead of attempting to get Mexico to pay for the wall, Trump said “existing funds and resources,” would be used to build the wall.

Here’s Guerra’s video from atop the wall.

The Department of Homeland Security has only been able to secure $20 million in existing funds to put toward construction of the wall. The expected cost is believed to be in the neighborhood of $21 billion.
