MeidasTouch’s “The Supporters” Mockumetary Lampoons MAGA World Celebrities

Trump’s rise also created a number of new MAGA viral starts. With so many people paying attention to Washington DC, plenty of new Conservative media starts arose. MeidasTouch recently lampooned these new ‘stars’ in their film, The Supporters.

The film starred Jason Selvig and Davram Stiefler, better known at the comedy duo, The Good Liars. The pair played podcast hosts Derek and Dale, who aspire to one day be Fox News hosts.

The mockumentary follows Derek and Dale’s efforts to raise their profile in MAGA world. Filming started back in January of 2020 and follows all the crazy happenings of the election year. Footage from January 6th’s insurrection is also included in the film. Actor Michael Rappaport was featured in the movie as was Senator Elizabeth Warren.

The comedy pair also participated in a number of stunts that took place at Trump rallies and other Conservative events. Selvig says of the experience, “There is so much phony stuff that you see on the campaign trail, not just from the right but from the left as well. Everything the candidates do, for the most part, is choreographed and insincere. Some of our stunts provided some truly genuine reactions, which is something you don’t see much of during a presidential campaign.”
