Megyn Kelly: The Media’s Coverage of Trump is Partially to Blame for the Insurrection

At one point, Megyn Kelly was a superstar for the Fox News network. NBC News made a huge bet that the journalist could appeal to a national audience. The bet was a miserable failure. Her show was cancelled after she dedicated a segment of her show to defending blackface.

After her cancellation, the former Fox host laid low for a while. But she has returned on Twitter, often defending the actions of Donald Trump. And during a recent interview with the BBC, Kelly claimed that the Trump riots were partially due to the media’s coverage of the ex-President.

She told host Emily Maitlis, “They (the media) hated him so much, they checked their objectivity. It wasn’t just CNN, all of them did. They just couldn’t check their own personal feelings about him.”

Part of the reason the insurrection happened, Kelly said, was, “because there has been a complete lack of trust, a destruction of trust in the media, and people don’t know where to turn for true information.”

Kelly closed by claiming, “The media should have tried harder to take a hard look at his policies and see him clearly.”
