Megyn Kelly Says Roger Ailes Never Would Have Let Anchors Call Biden “President Elect”
The now deceased Roger Ailes became the CEO of Fox News in 1996 and left the company in disgrace. He was asked to resign after a number of women had accused him of unwanted sexual advances. Megyn Kelly, one of the network’s biggest stars, was among the women harassed by Ailes.
Like many Conservatives, however, Kelly still treats her former boss with a certain kind of reverence. This was on display during a recent interview with Sirius XM’s Dan Abrams. Kelly told the host that Ailes would have never let network anchors refer to Joe Biden as the president elect.
The former Fox anchor told Abrams, “[Sean] Hannity says what he says, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo are over here, but then you’ve got Bret Baier and Martha [MacCallum]. You’re getting different messaging hour-to-hour. And I think people are confused. And I think if Roger were there, he’d be saying, ‘At least get one pundit on in all of these shows to at least make the president’s case.’ And I think they missed an opportunity.”
Abrams then asked about the number of “straight news” anchors who have been referring to Biden as the president elect and if she thought Ailes would have allowed that to happen.
“I don’t,” she replied. “I think they wouldn’t. Because Roger — maybe people do know this — Roger was much more conspiratorial than people really knew. If you could have heard what he said behind closed doors about any given conspiracy of the day, like, ‘is Obama a Muslim?’ you would have been pretty surprised.”
