Meghan McCain Confidently Calls Herself “The Boogeywoman of the Left”

The View’s Meghan McCain is certainly disliked by many people, especially including those that are left leaning. The daughter of legendary senator John McCain argues from a conservative point of view and that often goes against the views of the co-hosts and a majority of the audience.

On Wednesday morning, the View welcomed New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez onto the show. McCain was quick to compare herself to AOC, saying that like the congresswoman, she is a lighting rod for the opposite party.

While introducing the guest, McCain said to AOC, “I feel like you’re the boogeywoman of the right and I’m the boogeywoman of the left.”

The host then asked the congresswoman to defend Bernie Sanders, who Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed. The lawmaker replied, “When you pull these abstract ideas it’s one thing, but the majority of Americans would vote for Bernie Sanders and that’s because of his record, his commitment and his policies.”

McCain then turned her  focus to the Bernie Bros supporters. She continued, “The one thing that connects women on the left and women on the right, at least a lot of guest co-hosts, guests that come on, is the abuse that we have all been subjected to by the Bernie Bros. It is by far the most violent, most misogynistic, the most sexist, the most harmful.”

Ocasio-Cortez replied by saying that she has received some pretty significant abuse from those on the right. “You know what, I’ve been subject to a lot of this stuff from all sorts of pockets from the Internet, said the lawmaker.  “I.C.E. And CBP officers targeted me when I went to visit the border.”
