McCarthy Calls Greene, Gosar, Boebert, Etc ‘Distractions’ From What Americans Really Care About [VIDEO]

The fracturing of the Republican Party, which began the second Donald Trump descended that gold escalator in 2015 to announce his candidacy, has been happening right in front of us in real time. But they really didn’t start eating each other until after the January 6th insurrection on the Capitol. Those who wanted the coup to succeed are in the majority of the GOP, with very few true Republicans left among the Trumpublicans.

It took him a while, but it seems GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Q-CA) has finally realized Dear Leader has forsaken him. Kevin was in bigly trouble for telling the whole world that Trump bore responsibility for the mob’s attack on Congress. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) spoke the truth about her experience standing next to McCarthy in his office as he called Trump and begged him to call off his supporters, who were attempting to break his office windows. “Well, Kevin,” the Former Guy infamously replied, “I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”

Eviction protection in CARES act expires
WASHINGTON, DC – MARCH 27: (L-R) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Vice President Mike Pence listen as U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a signing ceremony for H.R. 748, the CARES Act in the Oval Office of the White House on March 27, 2020, in Washington, DC.  (Photo by Erin Schaff-Pool/Getty Images)

McCarthy should’ve realized he was Persona Non Grata with Trump after that, but he still spent several months trying to make it up to him, with several pilgrimages to Mar-A-Lago to beg forgiveness. But Trump doesn’t really forgive, and he never forgets, and it’s possible that somebody finally made Kevin McCarthy accept the fact that he’s no longer protected. So when the emboldened members of the QAnon Qongress (Boebert, Gosar, Greene, Cawthorn, etc) began displaying constant conduct unbefitting for members of the House of Representatives, it was expected that maybe McCarthy–who’s so desperate to be Speaker of the House you can smell it wafting off of him–would do something weird and ACT LIKE A LEADER.

When we’re reporting on these terrible people simply for being terrible, it reflects on the lack of leadership. McCarthy might acknowledge that the Qidiots are a “distraction” from the real issues voters are facing, but will he actually do anything about it?
