The rise of Donald Trump went hand in hand with the rise of white grievance. Still, pundits on Fox News would like to pretend that white supremacy doesn’t exist in the country. And white rage was on full display on January 6th when an angry mob of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol.During a recent hearing, Congressman Matt Gaetz questioned Joint Chief of Staffs Mark Milley about Critical Race Theory. Milley’s answer went viral when he brought up the topic of white rage. And enraged Gaetz talked about the incident during a weekend interview with the Spectator.
Gaetz opined, “Nobody in Russia is quivering over their ‘white rage’ — whatever that is. In China, they spend money modifying submarines, not the genders of service-members.”
The controversial Florida Rep. continued, “And I’m going to battle against this. Only a Benedict Arnold would surrender the Pentagon to the Woketopia without a fight.”
Gaetz closed his comments, “We should leave the CRT curriculum books in Kabul when the last US plane pulls up its landing gear on the way out.”
The Trump era Republican Party essentially has no platform or mission statement. The entire strategy is based on resentment and grievance. So voters can count on hearing plenty about things like Critical Race Theory and wokeness over the next few years.
