Matt Gaetz Downplays Sex Trafficking Allegations Because of a Lawsuit Against Don Lemon
A 2019 lawsuit filed in Suffolk County, New York against CNN anchor Don Lemon that he sexually assaulted a male bar patron in 2018 will get its day in court sometime early next year, Fox News reported on Thursday.
“[Lemon] put his hand down the front of his own shorts, and vigorously rubbed his genitalia, removed his hand and shoved his index and middle fingers into Plaintiff’s mustache and under Plaintiff’s nose,” according to the lawsuit. “Lemon intensely pushed his fingers against Plaintiff’s face under Plaintiff’s nose, forcing Plaintiff’s head thrust backward as Defendant repeatedly asked Plaintiff ‘Do you like p—y or d–k?’ While saying this, Mr. Lemon continued to shove his fingers into Plaintiff’s face with aggression and hostility.”
The alleged victim, Dustin Hice, is seeking “damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus prejudgment interest, attorneys’ fees, expenses, costs, and disbursements,” the filing states.
Lemon has called the case “frivolous,” although that remains to be seen.
On Thursday, embattled Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida – against whom the Federal Bureau of Investigation is pursuing possible indictments for sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl – appeared on right-wing propaganda outlet Real America’s Voice and insisted that what Lemon is accused of doing is just as bad as what the FBI suspects of himself.
“And ya know it’s quite something to listen to Don Lemon say that I’m the worst person in the world. Donald Trump is right. Don Lemon is the dumbest man on television. If Don Lemon has one brain cell, it’s playing freeze tag,” Gaetz complained to War Room host Steve Bannon.
“He thinks I’m the worst person in the world? wouldn’t even be the worst person in CNN by far. You know, he’s got Jeffrey Toobin rubbing one out during a Zoom call. You’ve got Chris Cuomo now facing new accusations. There’s a man – a bartender in the Hamptons, who has sued Don Lemon – now, these are just accusations, but they’re made in court and they’re pretty telling – where Don Lemon would stick his hands down his pants and then put his fingers under the nose of male bartenders and ask them if they liked it,” said Gaetz.
“So for this man to be calling me the worst guy in the world, it shows how vapid and empty he is, how vapid and empty CNN is and frankly a mainstream media apparatus that would shill for these lying, grifter generals instead of actually being a voice for the men and women that put that interview on and express an elite level of patriotism,” he added.
Gaetz did not deny any wrongdoing.
