Last January, a pro-Trump protest outside the Capitol Building turned into a violent assault on Congress. Now another group of right-wing ‘activists’ is preparing to descend upon D.C., and while the nation’s Capital sets up defenses in preparation, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is praising the group plotting the event.
Greene tweeted on Saturday in support of truckers, suggesting that they would be victims of government ‘persecution,’ and would be treated as political prisoners, as she also claims the January 6th defendants are.
Will the truckers, who deliver all the food and supplies to the important people, be in solitary confinement in jail as long as the PRETRIAL J6 Defendants?
I’ve always said how much I didn’t like the J6 riot but due process and innocent until proven guilty should mean something. https://t.co/F2jdh8Fziv

In this post she claimed to have been against the January 6th riot, though she has joined other right-wing extremists in pushing conspiracy theories and downplaying the attack.
However, when she followed up on Sunday, she seemed to express support of the nation’s Capital being forced to prepare for a potential repeat of the violent attack.
She was responding to a news tweet by Fox reporter Chad Pergram, who shared that fences would be raised again to protect the Capitol Building and government officials in advance of the State of the Union address on March 1st.

Greene responded to this to declared, “God bless truckers,” praising the work of truckers who transport goods across the country every day, and conflating them with those who are holding protests for the right to defy public health measures.
“They are the ones who are bravely taking a peaceful stand for our freedoms,” Greene expressed, with no apparent sense of irony regarding the fact that the people she’s describing as taking a “peaceful” stand are forcing the nation to prepare for violent attack, again.
