Republicans have spent this week attacking Kentaji Brown Jackson for a variety of different reasons. Their attacks weren’t likely to do much good. With a Democratic majority in the senate, it was likely that the judge would easily sail into the Supreme Court. On Friday, Joe Machin made that confirmation all but a certainly by announcing that he would vote to confirm her.

The West Virginia Democrat wrote in a statement, “After meeting with her, considering her record, and closely monitoring her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have determined that I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court.’
The statement from Machin continued, “During our meeting, she was warm and gracious. On top of her impressive resume, she has the temperament to make an exceptional jurist… I am confident Judge Jackson is supremely qualified and has the disposition necessary to serve as our nation’s next Supreme Court Justice.”
