MAGA Toxicity May Be Behind Ivanka Trump’s Decision Not To Run For Office

While Donald Trump was in office, some of his adult children stayed close to politics, holding no elected office but maintaining political clout through their father. Now, Ivanka Trump, who was widely assumed to be planing her own future political candidacies, will not be running for office as expected — and it could be because of her father’s lies.

We reported last week that Trump had been seen as a potential primary challenger against Marco Rubio — a U.S. Senator representing Florida, and sometimes seen as a political enemy of Donald Trump. However, Rubio’s spokesperson, Nick Iacovella, shared that Ms. Trump had met with the Senator, and would back him rather than opposing him for his current seat.

Now, a Political Tribune report may reveal why: MAGA toxicity.

It seems that Trump blamed her father for ruining her political career when a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th, trying to force Congress to overturn the election, and even threatening the lives of some members of government, including then-Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, both reportedly said that they feared the visual imagery created on that day would follow them throughout any attempt at further political careers, and taint any attempts to claim purported ‘achievements’ from the Trump Administration as proof of their own prowess.

According to Raw Story, former GOP staffer Kurt Bardella has also weighed in with his own information and experience. He says that the possible Senate run may have just been a publicity stunt on Trump’s behalf, and that she may have to wait to see how her family’s ongoing legal difficulties play out before she can make any serious moves.
