Madison Cawthorn Responds To Sex Tape Leak — Says It’s Just “Crass” “Acting Foolish” Between Buddies

Nobody, but nobody, should ever be the victim of revenge porn, or any other leak of sexual material they didn’t consent to release. However, someone close to Madison Cawthorn has done just that — dropping a tape that viewers say shows two nude men engaging in a physical act together, but that Cawthorn says is just him and a friend “acting foolish and joking.”

Cawthorn has been the subject of numerous leaked videos and images lately, prompting him to release a statement Wednesday addressing some of these clips. He explained away “locker room talk” and “vacation photos” — then the new video dropped, and it’s too inappropriate to share here for at least two reasons — the nudity and apparent sexual or sexually suggestive acts and the fact that Cawthorn presumably did not consent to this private material being released.

MeidasTouch said it well:

The statement goes on to remind everyone that the reason Madison Cawthorn should not be in Congress isn’t on a leaked video, but in his own actions in public, including his bigotry (including towards LGBT people) and his alleged connections to an attempt to overthrow the government.

Cawthorn, by contrast, said the video was made “years ago,” and that he and a friend were “being crass…trying to be funny…that’s it.”

Notably, Cawthorn says this is part of a blackmail campaign, and says he won’t back down, but does not indicate who he believes (or knows) is releasing this material, or what they’re trying to pressure him to do.
