Jihad (n): a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty; also : a personal struggle in devotion to Islam especially involving spiritual discipline.
That’s the definition provided by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, for the term that has been used frequently since the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers. In most cases it has been used in the discussion of terrorist attacks by Islamic terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS.
Last night, however, Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs used the term to attack Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation of Russian election interference.
“[Mueller is] behaving like nothing so much as a prosecutor, he is more, if you will, he’s on a jihad of some sort, and it is an ideologically inspired jihad,” Dobbs said while talking to Former Deputy Attorney General Tom Dupree .
Dobbs then went on to call the Mueller probe a “disaster for the country”, saying that the President has been “so wronged”.
This isn’t the first time that Dobbs and other Fox News commentators have attacked the Mueller investigation, and it certainly won’t be the last. You can watch the entire segment with Lou Dobbs and Tom Dupree below.
