This weekend, Donald Trump held a rally in support of Georgia senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. The event, though, wasn’t really about the candidates who are facing a January 5th runoff. The president made the rally all about himself. He spent the majority if the time airing his grievances and barely spoke about Loeffler or Perdue.

Still, the Republicans are going to need both Trump and his supporters if they hope to win their races. There is currently an attempt by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to fight the election results in other states. To show their fealty to Trump, Loeffler and Perdue released a statement lavishing praise on the lawsuit.
In a joint statement, the Republican lawmakers wrote:
“We fully support President Trump’s legal recourses and Attorney General Paxton’s lawsuit. The President has every right to use every legal recourse available to guarantee these simple principles: every lawful vote should be counted, any illegal vote submitted cannot be counted, and there must be full transparency and uniformity in the counting process.”
Trump has spent much of his day whining about his failure to have the election results overturned. He tweeted this morning, “If somebody cheated in the Election, which the Democrats did, why wouldn’t the Election be immediately overturned? How can a Country be run like this?”
