Liz Cheney Lays Out The Reasons Jim Jordan Shouldn't Be The Next Speaker

In a Friday morning Twitter post, Liz Cheney laid out the reasons why she doesn't think that Jim Jordan should be the next Speaker of the House.

Cheney, once the chair of the House Republican Conference, before she was removed, is one of the very few members of the party willing to speak out against Donald Trump. And her ire isn't only aimed at the former President. She also wants to prevent Jim Jordan from raising his profile.

Now a professor at the University of Virginia, took to Twitter writing, "Jim Jordan was involved in Trump's conspiracy to steal the election and seize power; he urged that Pence refuse to count lawful electoral votes. If Rs nominate Jordan to be Speaker, they will be abandoning the Constitution. They’ll lose the House majority and they’ll deserve to."

Cheney had also spoken out against the Ohio Rep. during a speech law week, saying if he was elected, there was "no longer be any possible way to argue that a group of elected Republicans could defend against the Constitution."

She continued:

"Jim Jordan knew more about what Donald Trump had planned for Jan. 6 than any other member of the House of Representatives. Jim Jordan was involved, was part of the conspiracy in which Donald Trump was engaged as he attempted to overturn the election."
