The hosts at Fox News are held to much different standards than those at real news agencies. Especially when it comes to Donald Trump, it has now been revealed that Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Brian Kilmeade were all in touch with Team Trump on the day of the insurrection.

Hannity has been criticized for his relationship with Trump before. He once appeared on stage at a rally with the former president, breaking Fox News rules. It doesn’t matter, though, Hannity says, because he’s a talk show host and not a journalist.

The Fox host said on his radio show, “talking to people, sources, as I often do as a member of the press, as a talk show host. “Hannity, you say you’re not a journalist.” You’re right; I’m a talk show host. “We do opinion. I don’t hide who I am. I tell you straight up, I’m a conservative, a registered conservative. And I tell you the people that I support and the people that I don’t support. Can’t be any more honest than that. We also do culture. We do sports. We talk about everything.

In other words, what I do as a member of the press is like the whole — I’m the whole package. “Hannity, you said you’re not a journalist.” I’m not. I’m a talk show host. As a member of the press, talk show host. A lot of people don’t know what I do for a living, it’s pretty funny.”
