Al Franken was a popular Democratic senator representing Minnesota for close to a decade. In 2017, he was accused of sexual misconduct and resigned from his post in 2018.
Franken still comments on politics on his podcast. During a recent episode, he invited the Daily Beast’s Michael Weiss on to discuss Fox News. And when the topic turned to Tucker Carlson, Franken didn’t hold back.
While referring to the current situation in Russia, the host said to his guest, “So, in other words, all news there is like Fox was under Trump.”
Weiss responded, “Well actually, quite literally in some cases because they love to play Tucker Carlson on Ukrainian [sic] state television.”
Franken replied, “Oh good. I’m glad someone in our country is giving aid and comfort to the Russians. Thank God, because that’ll probably only results in the deaths, I don’t know, thousands of people. But you know what? Tucker makes a lot of money. Did you know that?”
The former senator continued, ”
And let me tell you why. Well, you can say to yourself, “Look, I’m very talented, I’m gonna work hard, I’m going to be a truth-teller, and work for the common good of everybody as I see it.”Or you can say, “I’m a worthless piece of sh*t, and the only way I can make money is this way.”
