Lindsey Graham Effusively Praises Trump at South Carolina Rally
Donald Trump entered into the 2016 Republican nomination race with almost no friends in the party. By the time he took office, though, a number of those former enemies had become advocates of Trump. No one represented this turn better than South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham.
Graham, who once said that Trump would destroy the Republican party, is now the President’s most fervent defender. During a Friday night rally in Charleston, South Carolina, the South Carolina senator praised Trump as if he was some kind of messianic figure.
Speaking to a raucous crowd, the normally mild mannered Graham used a curse word. “Thank you, more than anything else, for putting up with the never-ending bullsh*t you have to go through.”
The lawmaker continued, “Thank you for 200 conservative judges. Thank you for Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Gorsuch. Thank you for rebuilding the military and killing the terrorist. Thank you for the strongest economy in my lifetime.”
Trump spent the rally politicizing the coronavirus by accusing Democrats of politicizing the coronavirus. He told the crowd, “The Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well,” Trump continued. “They tried the impeachment hoax.”
