Nobody has flip-flopped more on Donald Trump than Lindsey Graham. During the 2016 primaries, Graham noted that the businessman was unfit for office, then became one of his most loyal toadies.
After the events of January 6th, the South Carolina senator noted that he was done with the former President and that they had a nice run. But today, Graham is as enamored with Trump as ever and he recently responded to Liz Cheney's claims that a second Trump presidency could destroy the country.
Cheney, a former GOP congresswoman, said in a Sunday interview, “I believe very strongly in those principles and ideals that have defined the Republican Party, but the Republican Party of today has made a choice, and they haven’t chosen the Constitution. And so I do think it presents a threat if the Republicans are in the majority in January 2025."
When asked to respond on CNN's State of the Union, Graham countered, "I think a continuation of the Biden presidency would be a disaster for peace and prosperity at home and abroad. Our border is broken. The only person who is really going to fix a broken border is Donald Trump. When he was president, none of this stuff was going on in Ukraine. Hamas and all these other terrorist groups were afraid of Trump. I think Liz’s s hatred of Trump is real."
Graham, who was once thought of as a senator who could work both sides of the aisle, traded in his reputation for Trump. So comments like these should surprise no one.
