John Waters had been making movies for more than 50 years now. And they are unlike any other. Waters’ films are heavily influenced by camp and bad taste.

Donald Trump, whether he realizes it or not, has incredibly bad taste. Between his orange skin tone and poorly fitting clothes, Trump has never realized that the joke is actually on him. And Waters believes that the former President has ruined bad taste for everyone.
The filmmaker told the Huffington Post, “Trump ruined it. As soon as Trump was president, it just ended the humor of it. He was the nail in the coffin. He’s the first person that had accidental bad taste that wasn’t funny.”
Waters continued, “Usually, accidental bad taste is what camp originally meant. But today, people try too hard. And I think that never works. Because true camp is innocent, it doesn’t do things on purpose. It takes itself very seriously.”
