As the one year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection approaches, one law enforcement analyst believes she knows the “key mistake” Donald Trump’s legal team is making in their lawsuit to block White House records from being turned over to the House Select Committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Whitney Wild appeared on CNN on Friday and explained to host Poppy Harlow that despite Trump’s claims that the release of those records would be “harmful” to him, neither he nor his lawyers have been able to articulate just how he would be harmed. Wild speculates that by specifically detailing how the truth from those records would hurt Trump, he would be potentially revealing his part in planning the attempted coup on Congress.Harlow brought up the fact that the Select Committee has asked SCOTUS to “act quickly” regarding their ruling on Trump’s White House records, and Wild explained why that’s important. “They would like to see at least some resolution in the next couple of weeks, and at a minimum, they’re asking the Supreme Court to hear these arguments by January 14th,” said Wild. “So let’s break down everything that is going on here. The newest filing from the House and the Biden administration, on the same page here. What they’re arguing is that lower courts ruled correctly, they pointed out that the Trump team has not articulated a specific harm that would arise from releasing these records.”
Two weeks ago Trump said he had "nothing to hide" about January 6th.
Today, he asked SCOTUS to help him hide his January 6th records.

“The Trump team has made a list of arguments, one of them is basically that the former president just has a right to executive privilege and that’s basically the end of it,” continued Wild. “They haven’t said why releasing these documents would be specifically harmful, even though judges have sort of tried to lead them there. They questioned them saying, okay, if the records get released, what is going to be the result? And they haven’t articulated a specific, concrete harm that would override the interests from the House Select Committee in getting these records.”
Trump to SCOTUS do not release my records
Biden to SCOTUS release it, I get to decide
If SCOTUS decides against Biden our Democracy is OVER.
That would mean the prior President can do ANYTHING and hide it from the PEOPLE who gave him/her the power to be President.
