Lebron James says he ‘may’ Run For President in 2020 if the Democrats have ‘no one’

He’s known as “The King”, but before his time with the Lakers is up, he may find himself with a new nickname, perhaps one that opens the door to a future not only in politics, but as the leader of the free world.

“The President!”

Sure, it doesn’t have the same ring to it as “The King”, and to some it may not even be seen as a nickname that spreads a positive message anymore, but according to Lebron James himself, he will not absolutely rule out a run against President Trump in 2020.  Yes, you heard that right!

In a primetime interview with Don Lemon last night on CNN, the question was posed to Lebron, “Would you ever run for office?”

“I don’t think so,” Lebron responded. “I sit here and say ‘I don’t think so’, I don’t know.”

Lemon then followed up, “If someone tried to recruit a Lebron to run for president. [If] they said, ‘Listen they’ve got no one. If you don’t run, Trump’s gonna win,’ would you run?”

Lebron responded by saying, “Well in that case, I may.”

Obviously running for President is not on the mind of Lebron James, but this interview did show that if the right scenario popped up, it certainly wouldn’t be out of the question.

The interview where Lemon asks Lebron this question can be seen below in its entirety.
