The day after the January 6th insurrection on the US Capitol, entrepreneur and activist William Legate jokingly tweeted, “I’m considering launching a MyPillow competitor with better made pillows, made in America, and at a fraction of the price. The company would use funds to support democratic & social causes. Thoughts??”What started out as a joke soon became a reality just one week later when gun control activist, David Hogg, announced he was joining the project – and that they were naming it GoodPillow.
GoodPillow quickly surpassed MyPillow on Twitter, gaining over 50,000 followers in less than 24 hours. Upon announcement of the company name, #GoodPillow trended #1 globally on Twitter, and it was dubbed “one of the most read about consumer stories of 2021” by PRWeek. MyPillow’s Twitter account has since been permanently suspended for spreading election conspiracy theories and COVID misinformation.
But while thousands of people celebrated the announcement of a “progressive pillow company,” – not much has been known about the state of the company or its operations since.
According to confidential investor documents obtained by Hill Reporter and verified by sources with direct knowledge of the matter, GoodPillow is merging with Pillow-Fight, joining forces in hopes of taking on Mike Lindell’s MyPillow. The merged companies, now known solely as GoodPillow, are currently raising $3 million to help meet demand – there are currently over 50,000 people on the GoodPillow waiting list.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter confirm “overwhelming demand” from investors. Until now, the company has been entirely funded by LeGate, and they are reportedly “picking and choosing” investors – rejecting funding from anyone whose values are not aligned.
Documents obtained shed light on their operations: GoodPillow has spent the past year perfecting their pillows – and quietly developing an entire line of products to take on Mike Lindell’s MyPillow. On April 6th, GoodPillow publicly announced that their pillows will be available to order this July, along with mattresses, linens and more.
GoodPillow has also pledged to make sure the company is run in a progressive manner. In addition to proudly being made in America, their products are sourced sustainably, discounted to students and the military, and the company is pending B-Corp certification.
Every pillow will come with a QR code to register to vote, and proceeds from sales will be used to support civil rights initiatives, along with various other causes such as the March For Our Lives.
Sign-up for the waitlist on GoodPillow’s website to be notified when they go on sale this July. And if you can’t wait until then, Pillow-Fight’s pillows, mattresses, and more are still available to order — while supplies last!
