Latest 2024 Republican Primary Poll Show Donald Trump Jr. Hot on Mike Pence’s Heels

When Donald Trump is taken out of the running, the list of 2024 Republican candidates leaves plenty to be desired.

Donald Trump would really lie to stay in control of the Republican party. And there are plenty of lawmakers within the GOP that are helping him to do so. Trump running again, however, may be impossible. The former President is facing serious legal jeopardy in both New York and Georgia. He is also a 74 year-old morbidly obese man whose health might not hold up.

So who would be the candidate if Trump is unable to run? Mike Pence, the former Vice President, is currently the leader in the club house. Pence has said little since leaving office and seemingly hopes the stench of Trump will wash off of him.

A recent poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates shows Pence as the leading candidate. It is not a strong lead, though. In fact, only 4 points behind the former Vice President sits Donald Trump Jr.

Despite his complete lack of political experience, Trump Jr. is a popular figure among Republicans. His book, Triggered, became a best sell (though he had plenty of help from the RNC). And the former President’s son has kept in the public eye by posting wild videos that often go viral.

Being Trump Jr. sit two more Trump sycophants. Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida is polling at 14% and could see his momentum rise in the coming years. Ted Cruz, who helped the former President incite the insurrection on the Capitol is polling at 10%.
