Large Protest Outside Fox News’ Headquarters Planned for Wednesday

On Wednesday, March 13th, Fox News is holding an ‘emergency’ meeting at their headquarters in New York City in order to convince advertisers to start buying ads, or increase their number of ad buys.

This meeting is an apparent attempt to halt the loss of ad dollars following multiple negative news stories about the news network, including vile audio clips released over the last few days of Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Also on March 13th, at the Fox News headquarters will be a massive protest, organized by nonprofit Media Matters. The protest, titled “Drop Fox” will be held at 11 am at the Fox News headquarters, located at 1211 6th Avenue, New York City.

This week Media Matters has released several old audio clips of Fox News host Tucker Carlson making, racist, misogynistic and bigoted statements. The recently unearthed clips have pushed critics of Fox News to push for the boycott of companies who continue to advertise on the news network.

“Tucker Carlson’s dangerous misogyny, defense of domestic abusers and statutory rapists, and perverted comments about underage girls are vile – but frankly, they shouldn’t be shocking for anyone who has watched his program before – this is the real Tucker Carlson, and this is the real Fox News,” explained Angelo Carusone, president of Media Matters for America. “This isn’t the first time a Fox News host has gotten the network in trouble, and it won’t be the last. Fox News is racist, bigoted, sexist, toxic and a pro-Trump propaganda operation without any concern for truth. The message to companies and their media buyers is clear:”

“No matter what time of day you advertise on Fox News, you support the network’s extremism and bigotry. Quarantining your ads to only a small subset of programs will not insulate your brand from public rebuke when Fox News’ next controversy strikes. Both the “news side” and the “opinion side” are cogs in the same propaganda machine. The network as a whole is the problem, not merely a few prime-time hosts.”

HillReporter.com is also told that Media Matters for America has commissioned two billboards to circle Fox News’ headquarters on Wednesday. These billboards will read “DROP FOX” and “FOX NEWS IS RACIST, BIGOTED, SEXIST, TOXIC AND BAD FOR BUSINESS,” and will circle Fox News’ headquarters throughout the day, starting at 7:30am.
