When he was a child, Donald Trump's parents failed to teach him how to lose with dignity. As a result, any setback faced by the former President is met with claims that the contest was rigged. Rather than trying to show him the error of his ways, those around him instead reward the behavior by agreeing with him.
For this election season, Trump made his daughter-in-law, Lara, the head of the RNC. And the wife of Eric Trump recently showed how far the party is willing to go to placate the candidate by pushing debunked voter fraud theories.
The RNC chair told Charie Kirk, "This year is the year we do it. We are also sending a loud and clear message out there to anyone who thinks about cheating in an election, we will find you, we will track you down and we will prosecute you to the full extent of the law.”
This is a similar message to the one Trump and his team have been pitching around the country this year. While in Michigan recently, Lara Trump promoted the idea that the 2020 election wasn't fair, saying:
"What we need to ensure is integrity in our electoral process. We can never go back and repeat 2020, but we can learn the lessons from 2020."
