‘Kraken’ Attorney Sidney Powell Files Frivolous Countersuit Against Dominion Voting Systems

“Kraken” attorney Sidney Powell has filed a countersuit against Dominion Voting Systems, which is currently suing her and other individuals for defamation over their “Big Lie” that the company was financed by Venezuelan communists and that it had used its voting machines to rig the 2020 election against former President Donald Trump in favor of President Joe Biden.

Right-wing propaganda media outlets Fox News, Newsmax, One America News, along with ex-New York City Mayor and Trump’s erstwhile television lawyer Rudy Giuliani and MyPillow’s discredited and disgraced conspiracy theorist chief executive officer Mike Lindell are also defendants in various pieces of litigation that have been filed by Dominion.

Powell’s latest courtroom gambit, however, is truly absurd.

“Powell, in a series of counterclaims filed late Friday against Dominion Voting Systems Inc., claimed the company’s earlier $1.3 billion defamation suit against her was a ‘ludicrous’ abuse of the legal system intended to intimidate her for speaking out. She’s seeking at least $10 million in damages,” correspondent Erik Larson of Bloomberg News reported on Saturday.

There is no proof that last year’s presidential contest was fraudulent, illegitimate, or stolen.

“Dominion’s motive in suing was ‘diverting attention from the failings of its election equipment, trying to change the ‘narrative’ that was exposing Dominion’s serious flaws and wrongdoing, and avoiding post-election inquiry into voting irregularities in the 2020 election,’ Powell said in the filing,” wrote Bloomberg, noting that Powell has not produced a scintilla of evidence to substantiate any of her allegations against Dominion.

“Powell, an outspoken Trump supporter, may have a hard time convincing the Washington judge overseeing the case that Dominion’s lawsuit is improper. The judge in August denied Powell’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, criticizing her for depending on unreliable ‘expert witnesses’ and anonymous affidavits to back her conspiracy” Larson added.
