KellyAnne Conway Decries “Break From Presidential Norms” — Did She Forget Who She Worked For?

KellyAnne Conway served as a senior adviser to Donald Trump during his presidency. Now, President Joe Biden’s administration has asked her — and some other Trump-appointed officials — to step down from their current roles voluntarily, or be fired.

Conway lashed out on Twitter, sharing an image of a response letter in which she declines to do so.

Before we go any further, let’s have a quick reminder of Conway’s tenure speaking on behalf of Trump. There was her coining of the phrase “alternative facts” to cover for his lies immediately after the inauguration, for example, as well as accusations of violations of ethics and law.

Ultimately, though, she worked for a President who was known for nothing more than violating norms, acting in ways that were unprecedented, tweeting official statements in between deceptively-edited troll videos, and finally encouraging his supporters to show up for a rally that turned into an attempted insurrection, continuing even months afterwards to promote the Big Lie and claim the election was rigged.

So, it comes across as a little disingenuous when Conway’s criticism of Biden for firing her is that it’s a “break from presidential norms.”

“Three former Directors of Presidential Personell inform me that this request is a break from presidential norms. It certainly seems petty and political, if not personal.”

Twitter did not receive her missive well, and about an hour after sharing the statement, she tweeted again to insult both her estranged (anti-Trump Republican) husband, and everyone tweeting on the left.

“Since I’m not the Conway on Twitter regularly, I’d forgotten how left-wing it is and how nutty some people are. LOLOL. I’m WORRIED for you. Get some fresh air, folks. Wear pants that button and zipper again. Get a hobby that doesn’t involve a keyboard. Make a friend.”

At least we know she heard how unbelievable everyone found her complaint.
