Kanye West went on a bizarre tweet storm on Wednesday in which he praised President Donald Trump and tweeted a picture in which he wore a signature “Make America Great Again” red hat. The rapper’s positive words for the 45th POTUS immediately confused and angered his fanbase.

“Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

You may recall that President Obama called Kanye West a “jackass” in 2009 after West famously interrupted Taylor Swift’s VMA accepted speech.

“You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” West tweeted on Wednesday morning. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”

West then proceeded to send out this ming-boggling tweet with an included photo.

“Thank you Kanye, very cool!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday. That tweeted followed another picture in which West showed a red MAGA hate signed by the President.

This isn’t incredibly shocking, Hot 97 radio host Ebro Darden revealed this week that West had once revealed his love for Donald Trump. “I love Donald Trump,” the famed rapper told Darden.

Kim Kardashian Intervenes

Less than one hour after Kanye West tweeted about his love of Donald Trump, his wife, Kim Kardashian West, had him follow up with some clarification.

“My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does. I don’t agree 100% with anyone but myself,” he wrote. Kanye then said he also had love for former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“If your friend jumps off the bridge you don’t have to do the same. Ye being Ye is a fight for you to be you. For people In my life the idea of Trump is pretty much a 50 50 split but I don’t tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary I love Hillary too,” West explained.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was later forced to talk about Kanye West. Sanders said she didn’t know of any conversations that were shared between the President and the rapper. “I’ll keep you posted if that changes,” Sanders added.

Kanye And Trump Seem Like Besties

Remember when Kanye West visited Trump in December 2016? Trump was the President-elect when West received harsh backlash from his fans for meeting a man who refused to condemn the white nationalist agenda set forth by David Duke and the KKK.

West defended his Trump meetup in a series of tweets in which he proclaimed, “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues … I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”

In a very un-West moment, he deleted his original tweets.
