Kanye Released His September Fundraising Numbers and They’re Really, Really Bad
Fundraising in as extremely important part of running a successful presidential campaign. The race has continued to move Joe Biden’s way as he has continually out-raised Donald Trump following the party conventions. In the month of September, Biden raised $383 million. The Trump campaign raised $248 million.
Like any political candidate, Kanye West is also soliciting donations from his supporters. The numbers, however, don’t look anything like those of the top two candidates. In fact, West only took in a total of $2,782 last month.
Fortunately for the rapper, he and his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, are very wealthy people. So the rapper did contribute $3 million of his own money to his campaign.
There were few others willing to contribute, though. Ben Jacobs notes, “Kanye West just filed his FEC report for September. He spent another $3 million of his own money while raising $2782.”
Jacobs continues, “Of the money Kanye West’s presidential campaign raised, $1582 came in unitemized contributions of under $200. He received two itemized contributions, one of $1000 and a second of $200.”

If the rapper is bothered by his struggle to mount a successful campaign, he’s not showing it. West recently released a new song called Nah, Nah, Nah. The opening line in the song is, “Next time you text, can it wait?/ You are talkin’ to a presidential candidate/ I know you think Obi-Wan gettin’ tired now/ Don’t jump, Anakin, I got the higher ground.”
