Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren Call For Brett Kavanaugh to be Impeached

One of the greatest accomplishments of Donald Trump’s presidency was placing Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. The nominations, though, have been controversial, especially that of Kavanaugh. Many pundits felt that the Kavanaugh hearings had an impact on the 2018 election, both positive and negative.

A recent article by the New York Times shone a new light on the sexual assault allegations made against the judge. Numerous Democratic candidates, including Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, have called for the justice to be impeached.

The new revelations in the piece led to Democratic hopefuls revisiting the situation. And those candidates are taking the accusations seriously.

Elizabeth Warren tweeted, “Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.”

Kamala Harris largely agreed with the Massachusetts senator. She wrote, “I sat through those hearings. Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached.”

One politician that didn’t agree with that assessment of Kavanaugh was Donald Trump. He tweeted this morning, “Can’t let Brett Kavanaugh give Radical Left Democrat (Liberal Plus) Opinions based on threats of Impeaching him over made up stories (sound familiar?), false allegations, and lies. This is the game they play. Fake and Corrupt News is working overtime!”
