Jon Ossoff Unloads on Kelly Loeffler for ‘Campaigning With a Klansman’
Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff shredded incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler on Wednesday for “campaigning with a former member of the Ku Klux Klan” in an impromptu interview with Fox News reporter Peter Doocy.
Ossoff is challenging incumbent Republican David Perdue for his seat in a runoff election on January 6. Loeffler, meanwhile, is squaring off against Raphael Warnock, a reverend at Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Control of the United States Senate hinges on the outcomes of both races.
“Why not talk more about your relevant experience?” Doocy asked Ossoff at a campaign stop in Marietta, where the young Senate hopeful was courting Latino voters.
“I’ve made my career fighting injustice, exposing war crimes and injustice. I run a business that’s exposed terrorism, that exposed sexual slavery by ISIS, that’s exposed judicial corruption. And right now, we have a crisis of corruption in American politics,” replied Ossoff.
“And since we’re live on Fox, let me take this opportunity to address directly the Fox audience,” Ossoff continued. “We have two United States senators in Georgia who have blatantly used their offices to enrich themselves. This is beyond partisanship.”
Ossoff then made a brief on-air request for donations to his website, after which Doocy pressed him over whether he has “any concern that the allegations of wrongdoing against Rev. Warnock could possibly be a drag on the Democratic ticket.”
Ossoff insisted that he has “none whatsoever.”
Here’s the bottom line. Kelly Loeffler has been campaigning with a klansman. Kelly Loeffler has been campaigning with a klansman. And so she is stooping to these vicious personal attacks to distract from the fact that she’s been campaigning with a former member of the Ku Klux Klan.
Georgians “deserve better than that,” Ossoff added. “And I want to encourage everybody to make a plan to vote on Tuesday.”
